The Roots Ensemble is 1) the backing band for songwriter Christopher Mark Jones and 2) a fun club and small festival band that mixes originals and roots/Americana covers, including such writers as Ry Cooder, Townes Van Zandt, Keb Mo, The Band, Lyle Lovett and Little Feat (see below for a selected song list).

Vince Camut (electric and pedal steel guitars), a Johnstown native and Berklee School of Music graduate, is a full-time guitar teacher. He has played in country bands, with Tracy Drach, Ben Shannon and Heather Kropf and is an in-demand session player.
Eric Kurtzrock (drums and vocals) is a producer, engineer and session player, who played jazz, rock and bluegrass in New York City and San Francisco before returning to his native Pittsburgh.
Mark Perna (bass) is a medical physicist who plays electric and upright basses, produces and records with jazz soxophonists Richie Cole and Don Aliquo Sr and songwriter Peter King (among others).
Christopher Mark Jones (guitars, vocals & songs) has played folk, jazz, swing and rock in Paris, London, Boston and Pittsburgh. He also produces and engineers in his studio, Studio 256.
